Good day everyone/ I played a fun little gig this past weekend and my good pal JDM was there to capture some of it. Check out this video of Boxcar Shawn and myself covering Pink Floyd’s “Goodbye Cruel World”.

I recently got Sailin’ On and Cactus Sings Springsteen back on streaming platforms. Both recordings can be found on Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes, Google Play/YouTube, Amazon, Pandora, iHeartRadio, Instagram/Facebook, Anghami, MediaNet, Deezer, ClaroMusica, KKBox, Napster, Saavn, Tidal, TikTok.

And finally, my new two song single for “Ship Wreck” b/w “I Hear The All” will hopefully be available this December. I’m just waiting on the guest back up vocals to be completed. Stay tuned for more details.

Cactus Vella: Punk in its Truest Form:

“There are those who think “punk” is a certain type of music; heavy drum beats, loud guitars, anti-establishment lyrics sung by a drug-and-alcohol-laden lead singer.  Any true follower of punk and all that it means will tell you that is bullshit.  They know that there is so much more to it than that and refuse to be limited by such a narrow view, and really, isn’t that punk in its truest form?…” Read the rest of this entry »

FUSION 01“The greatest thing about this is that I get to talk about not only Cactus Vella’s solo project but he is the guitarist in some of my favorite Toronto punk bands. Cactus Vella has been around in the Toronto Punk scene since the early 90’s,and continues to play in Sinkin’ Ships, Class Assassins and The Whiskey Hearts Collective.

One of my favorite things about any musician is when they push the boundaries of their own music. Cactus Vella plays in some amazing hardcore punk rock bands, but who is to say that you can’t go and record a gritty acoustic punk rock album? And he did just that. So here’s a couple of clips of his acoustic stylings….”
