Jon Creeden shared a link to Cactus Vella’s bandcamp and it had that folk punk edge that is just oh so good right now. I quickly got in touch with this Toronto resident.

What are your thoughts on the music scene in your local residence?
The local scene here in Toronto is alive and well. Toronto has always had an amazing scene from the very beginning. On any given night there’s plenty of bands to be seen. There’s always awesome bands playing at The Bovine Sex Club, The Hard Luck Bar, The Press Club, Sneaky Dee’s and countless other venues. Those are just my favorites.
The only thing lacking today in Toronto is venues providing the opportunity to host all-ages events.
How would describe your music style?
I play acoustic punk. Rebel Music.”

What’s your dream tour?
I would love to get on the Revival Tour.
Also a tour of Europe would be pretty awesome. That way I could go back to Malta again!

What is required to make what you define as good music?
A Six-strings and a set of lungs is a good start.

What’s your favorite animal? (real or yet to be made?)
I like kitty’s and puppies

What do you think is going to happen with DIY music in the next few years?
It will continue to go in the same direction. There’s a lot of hope for DIY music today. Anyone can record and distribute an album digitally. And if it’s really good and reaches the right people, anything can happen. It’s all about exposure right? It just takes a little work to get your songs out there. Thanks to the digital age it’s never been easier. So get off your lazy ass and promote your music already.

What is your drink?
I’m currently all about Vodka with Tonic. I used to drink Jack Daniels straight up, but I don’t do that anymore.Coffee is my other drink. I need about 3 coffees a day to properly function. Pop is evil. Haven’t had a sip of pop in over a year.

If you could change one thing about the world what would you change?
Lowering the costs of education comes to mind. But I’m sure other things like world peace, and breaking down the class systems are also good answers. Then I start thinking of Bad Religion lyrics and I’m all like “Expose the culprits and feed them to the children, I’ll do away with air pollution and then all save the whales,We’ll have peace on earth and global communion.”

If you could make a movie, what would it be about?
A galaxy far far away, a spirited farm boy named Luke Skywalker joins rebel forces to save Princess Leia from the evil Darth Vader. I would also throw in a Death Star, a Wookie, and some Droids.

What do you want people to know about you?
I run my own graphic design company, Check out
